At our 2021 Annual General Meeting, scheduled for Monday 16th August 2021, the following Special Resolution will be put with regard to our Club Rules:
"In order to comply with the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (VIC), the General Committee of the Blackburn Tennis Club Incorporated propose and recommend the adoption of the updated Club Rules as presented (see below). These rules are a combination of the "Model Rules" and Club specific Rules.
The reasons for updating the current Club Constitution are to: 1) Modernise our current rules to reflect the operations of the club currently and going forward - eg. the use of digital communications/records etc. 2) To meet the legal requirements of the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (VIC), with regard to the required "mandatory inclusions" in our rules.
REASONS FOR HAVING RULES: Every incorporated association must have rules.
The rules are a written document which guide how our club operates
Are a contract between the Association and its Members
Set out our Clubs purposes
List the rights and responsibilities of members and office holders.
Policies: The Blackburn Tennis Club Incorporated supports the Tennis Australia policies and guidelines towards assuring a safe and supportive environment for all Members and Associates of our Club. Refer to the Tennis Australia website for information regarding the Tennis Australia Member Protection Policy and the Safeguarding Children Guidelines.
