On Sunday 4th December 2022 we held our 120th Anniversary Celebration. Over 100 people attended the event and our committee thanks all those who attended and helped to make the event a success. Thanks also to our Club Coach, Andrew Caldwell and his team for running the Junior Tournament held on the day. Well done to our juniors who participated in the tournament, despite the hot weather! We were joined by some special guests for the Official part of the celebration: Federal Member for Deakin - Michael Sukkar MP, WCC Mayor - Councillor Mark Lane, WCC Lake Ward Councillor - Denise Massoud, Tennis Victoria President - Jacqueline Pirrone & Tennis Victoria Regional Events Manager - Stephanie Eshak. Many thanks to our special guests for being a part of our 120th Anniversary Celebration and for recognising the valuable contribution made to our local community by the Blackburn Tennis Club and its’ members throughout the past 120 years. Club President, Dom Alberico, was joined by 1958 Ladies Singles Champion Margaret Smith, for the official cake cutting. In the short seven round 2022 BDNTA Spring Season, completed in December last year, we had 19 teams competing. Two teams went on to win the Premiership as follows: Monday Open Section 3 - Blackburn Smackburn Tuesday Open Section 13 - Blackburn Weary Dunlops Well done to both teams!!
