In the recently completed 2024 BDNTA Autumn Season we had 22 teams competing. The BDNTA competition continues to grow and there were over 450 teams from over 50 Clubs competing in the Autumn season. Fourteen of our 22 teams qualified for the finals with ten teams winning their SFs to qualify for the GF. Congratulations to the following teams: PREMIERS: Monday Ladies Sec 8 - Tiebreakers, Monday Ladies Section 9 - Schoolies, Tuesday Section 9 - Ghost Train, Wednesday Section 7 - Rockets, Wednesday Section 9 - Lakers, Thursday Section 6 - Bluto, Thursday Section 6 Sgls/Dbls - Backhanders. RUNNERS-UP: Tuesday Section 12 - Smackburn, Wednesday Section 10 - Blacky Boys, Thursday Section 4 Sgls/Dbls - Baseliners Belated congratulations to our 2023/2024 Summer Season ERT Premiers!! We had 15 Junior and 2 senior teams qualify for the ERT finals, with 5 Junior & 1 Senior team winning Premierships. Well done to all teams!! In the recently completed 2023 BDNTA Spring season we had three teams win their section. Congratulations to our Tuesday Night Section 10 "Blues", Wednesday Night Section 10 "Lakers" & Thursday Night Section 7 Singles/Doubles. In the 2024 BDNTA Autumn Season we will have 22 teams competing across the four competition nights. The season commences in the week beginning Monday 29th January 2024.  Entries are NOW OPEN for the 2024 BDNTA Autumn Season which is scheduled to commence in the week beginning Monday 29th January 2024.
Members wanting to enter a team can do so by completing the attached form and submitted with relevant fees. Teams entered include the following: Monday Ladies - One Hit Wonders, Tie-breakers, Schoolies & Hit 'n Miss, Tuesday Open - Ghost Train, Blues, Weary Dunlop, Smackburn, Saints & MisHits, Wednesday Open - Rockets, Lakers, Blacky Boys & St Thoms Brummys Thursday Open - Line Sweepers, Rockets, Unusual Suspects & Bluto, Thursday Singles/Doubles - Baseliners, RacqPacq, Backhanders & Bouncers Good-luck to all teams! Three teams won the premiership in the recently completed 2023 Autumn season. Congratulations to the Tuesday Section 12 Blues, Thursday Section 5 Cacophobics & the Thursday Section 7 Bluto.  We had 18 Junior and three Senior teams competing in the recently completed 2022/2023 Eastern Region Tennis Summer season. Several teams performed well during the season and many new players completed their first season of competition tennis. Well done to all teams for competing well during the season and to our Junior Team Managers who assisted with the relatively smooth running of our junior program for summer season. Congratulations to the following premiership teams: Saturday Junior Open Singles/Double Section 1, Sunday Boys Single/Doubles Section 7, Sunday JDC Section 2 & Saturday Seniors Open Section 3. On Sunday 4th December 2022 we held our 120th Anniversary Celebration. Over 100 people attended the event and our committee thanks all those who attended and helped to make the event a success. Thanks also to our Club Coach, Andrew Caldwell and his team for running the Junior Tournament held on the day. Well done to our juniors who participated in the tournament, despite the hot weather! We were joined by some special guests for the Official part of the celebration: Federal Member for Deakin - Michael Sukkar MP, WCC Mayor - Councillor Mark Lane, WCC Lake Ward Councillor - Denise Massoud, Tennis Victoria President - Jacqueline Pirrone & Tennis Victoria Regional Events Manager - Stephanie Eshak. Many thanks to our special guests for being a part of our 120th Anniversary Celebration and for recognising the valuable contribution made to our local community by the Blackburn Tennis Club and its’ members throughout the past 120 years. Club President, Dom Alberico, was joined by 1958 Ladies Singles Champion Margaret Smith, for the official cake cutting. |
