In the short seven round 2022 BDNTA Spring Season, completed in December last year, we had 19 teams competing. Two teams went on to win the Premiership as follows:

In the 2021/2022 Eastern Region tennis Summer Season we have three premiership teams. The committee wish to advise that although the Club has recorded a reduced income over the last two financial years, we are pleased to advise that our membership renewal fees will not be increased for the coming 2021/2022 financial year. Prompt payment of membership fees would be greatly appreciated as it assists us with the Tennis Victoria player registration and insurance processing required for each member. We encourage members to take advantage of the discounts being offered for membership renewals made by 31st July 2021. Details have also been placed on our website and relevant gate signage has been erected.
All courts are available for play for Club Members. Members - Singles & Doubles social and/or competition play are permitted – maximum 4 players per court. Connected Night Competition Players may pre-book courts in advance for evening play on weeknights. (Contact Dom – Ph: 0418 127 447) EVERY PLAYER & “Supervising Parent” WHO COMES TO THE CLUB MUST REGISTER THEIR ATTENDANCE BY USING THE QR CODE SYSTEM. Scan QR Code or go directly to www.visitsafe.at/blackburntc Enter your details and click “Check-In”. You will then receive a pop-up message confirming successful check-in. (INSTRUCTIONS ALSO ON EACH COURT GATE). Supervising parents must stay outside of the court enclosures (maximum 1 supervising parent per child) unless umpiring for JDC matches. Our Club Coach, Andrew Caldwell, is permitted to conduct all forms of coaching/training for members & non-members. Andrew will also maintain records of attendance for his coaching clients. All Members & supervising parents have an important responsibility in complying with the above directions at all times. Following social distancing and safe hygiene protocols for the protection of all is expected. Members may bring visitors to play with them. Visitors Fees ($5.00 per visit), to be paid online or via the slot near the front door. Members bringing Visitors – it is your responsibility to ensure that your Visitor has registered their attendance via the QR Code system and paid the relevant Visitor’s Fees. Tennis remains a very low risk non-contact sport but during the current COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that Members consider their own personal health circumstances carefully, prior to deciding whether to visit the club. As always, we remind Club Members using the clubs’ facilities - you do so at “your own risk”. Court/facility use will be monitored as best we can during the coming weeks and players not following the above directions will be asked to leave the site immediately. Club-House: The club-house remains closed for general use during unsupervised sessions. Toilet, Change-room & Shower facilities will only be available during supervised sessions – e.g. during coaching & competition. During supervised sessions the kitchen will also be available for players to fill their drink bottles. Relevant hygiene signage has been placed in both toilet facilities and throughout the club-house. There are hand wash/sanitiser facilities available. The club-house is being professionally cleaned weekly and records of attendance of cleaners are available. Club-House Density Limits: Due to the size of our club-house we are permitted to have 25 people in the club-house at the same time, however this is not likely to occur as we are limiting access and expect that players will not congregate/mingle indoors. The Club Committee is now able to meet indoors at the club as we are able to maintain suitable distancing. Hospitality: No hospitality/ food services are routinely provided by the Club. Should the need arise, the club will follow relevant hygiene practices. Senior ERT Summer competitions have removed the requirement for serving of afternoon tea. Face Masks: You do not need to wear a face mask when exercising outdoors. It is strongly recommended that you wear a face mask when you are outdoors, and you cannot keep 1.5metres distance from others. You must carry a face mask with you at all times, unless you have a lawful reason not to. Face masks are not required within the club-house as long as suitable social distancing is maintained. Court Maintenance: Our courts will continue to be maintained by our approved contractor – Deuce Tennis Courts. Should the club be notified of a positive COVID-19 test related to a facility user/s, the Club will at all times respond to the directives of the DHHS (Victorian Government), Whitehorse Council and where applicable Tennis Victoria. The club will provide participant information records to assist authorities if required. Any resultant closure/cleaning will be conducted as directed by DHHS/WCC. As the Blackburn Tennis Club does not have a single point of entry into the facility, we have erected relevant signage on all our court gates and club-house windows with regard to QR Code Sign-In requirements.
