As per the recent State Government decision with regard to easing of COVID-19 restrictions and with the consent of our local council we are now in a position to re-open our facility in a limited way from Friday 15th May 2020. Several measures have been implemented to allow us to return to playing tennis in a limited way in this first stage of the pathway back. Venue Attendance / Participant Information: One of the most important requirements for tennis to continue is that each venue needs to keep records of participants and attendance for all people coming to our club for playing purposes. At present, in the absence of a Book a Court/Electronic Access system, we will require the co-operation of members for the accurate collection of participant information for the foreseeable future. i) Members Casual Play - Members who organise their own social practice hits must - keep records of date of play/participant names/start & end time/Court Used. These records need to be sent prior to leaving the Venue by sms to 0418 127 447 on the date of play. ii) Ladies Social Tennis Groups – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday mornings will need to keep a record of date of play/participant names/start & end time/Courts Used for every playing session – these records need to be sent either by sms as above or emailed to the club’s email address on the date of play. i.e. [email protected] NB. Members should preferably not bring unregistered visitors to the club during this limited re-opening period. If you bring a visitor, apart from paying the required visitors fees, you will need to provide their full name and mobile contact details when submitting participant information. iii) Coaching Sessions – Fireball Tennis staff will be responsible for the participant data collection during their lesson times at the club. In addition to the above please note the following: a) Before you come to our Club: Stay at home if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the preceding 14 days or have even mild flu-like symptoms. If you are in a “high risk” health category, please consider whether you should be playing tennis during this period, do not take unnecessary risks. Only people core to a playing group should be at the Club. b) Social Distancing: We expect all people attending the club to adhere to general social distancing requirements by keeping at least 1.5 metres away from other people. c) Club-house Closed: The club-house must not be used and should not be left open at any time. No gatherings within the club-house under any circumstances. The toilets are only for emergency use. d) Personal Care: All drinking taps will not be available for use. Come prepared with your own full drink bottles/personal care products/hand wipes/sanitisers . i.e. get on the court and play, sms participant information, and then leave the site. No hand-shakes, high fives etc…Observe coughing etiquette as per signage – i.e. into your elbow if necessary and away from others. e) Coaching: For the remainder of Term 2, Fireball Coaches will advise their clients with more specific safety related guidelines with regard to the conduct of coaching classes directly. NB. Maximum 1 parent per family onsite when watching your child’s coaching lesson. During coaching sessions, parents must not enter the playing area, unless invited to do so by the coaches. f) Court Care: players are expected to maintain the courts as per usual requirements. Line brooms will be removed from our coaching courts (i.e. 5, 6 & 7) during this Stage 1 return. Hoses will still be available for watering of courts but given the time of year court watering will most likely not be required during most sessions of play. COURTS MUST STILL BE BAGGED as per usual requirements. For further information please refer to signage at the Club and the Tennis Victoria website. We understand some of the above requirements may seem onerous but we are required to implement the above-mentioned measures for the safety of all our community and in the best interests of the Club. Any Queries may be directed to myself. Kind Regards, Dom Alberico, President, Blackburn Tennis Club Email: [email protected] Dear Members,
We are pleased to advise that our local council confirmed today that we are permitted to re-open our courts as per current State Government directives. Please be patient for another couple of days as we implement further recommended safety measures. More detailed return to play information will be provided to members by email and a later website post. Also please note - the club-house will not be available for use during this initial re-opening phase. Kind Regards, BTC General Committee >>>>>blackburn_tennis_club_media_release_12-05-2020.pdf Dear Members,
Please note that due to COVID-19 community wide restrictions our courts and club-house will be closing from Saturday 28th March 2020. All nets will be removed on Saturday and no play will be permitted. Court Maintenance will continue as required and facility checks will occur regularly during the shutdown period. Best wishes to all members - Stay Healthy:)) BTC General Committee Entries are Now Open for the 2020 BDNTA Autumn Season.
The season commences on Monday 3rd February 2020. The Club accepts team entries from members & non-members. If you wish to enter a night team we have courts available on each of the competition nights - i.e. Mon., Tues., Wed., & Thurs. BTC Team Entries Close: 14th November 2019. >>ntnomform_autumn_2020.doc Our LED court lighting project was recently completed. The last of our old lighting poles were removed on Tuesday 20th August.
Our night players are enjoying much improved court lighting and we now have the ability to light courts individually. The lighting and uniformity levels on all courts are well above Australian standards for community tennis clubs. Thanks to all members for their co-operation during the project which allowed us to keep court closures to a minimum. |
